Mushkin company officially introduced solid-state (SSD) drives of the Pilot series, which were demonstrated in January this year at CES 2018.
Products have expanded the range of fast devices NVMe 1.3. This specification describes access to the SSD using a PCI Express bus (in this case PCIe 3.0 x4).
The drives use the Silicon Motion SM2262 controller. Microchips of flash memory 3D TLC NAND are used. Form factor – M.2-2280: dimensions are 22 × 80 mm.
The Mushkin Pilot family includes four modifications – with a capacity of 120, 250 and 500 GB, as well as 1 TB. The sequential read / write rates and IOPS (I / O operations per second) are listed in the following table:
_____________ 120 GB 250 GB 500 GB 1 TB
Reading, MB / s 1215 2470 2680 2710
Recording, MB / s 515 1000 1755 1755
IOPS when reading 91 000 179,000 335 000 283 000
IOPS when writing 133 000 257 000 277 000 280 000
The average claimed time between failures reaches 1.5 million hours. The monitoring tools of S.M.A.R.T. are supported. The products are provided with a three-year warranty.
The timing of the start of sales of Mushkin Pilot drives and their approximate price is, unfortunately, not specified yet.
